Pernille Quigg - singer song writer
Amazing Grace (lyrics) by John Newton/trad.

Written by John Newton in 1773. The story goes that Newton, an English slave trader, encountered a dreadful storm on his way back to America. Newton prayed for mercy and upon realizing the terrible error of his ways, he turned the ship round to release his human cargo. (Last verse by John P. Rees)

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
